The role of homeroom teachers in establishing educational
communication in increasing students' interest in learning is needed as a
stabilizer for students in facing problems. This research aims to: 1) Describe
the educational communication of homeroom teacher IX A at Madrasah
Tsanawiyah "Wali Songo" Putri Ngabar Ponorogo. 2) Describing the learning
interest of students in class IX A at Madrasah Tsanawiyah "Wali Songo" Putri
Ngabar Ponorogo. 3) Knowing the role of homeroom teacher's educational
communication in increasing students' interest in learning class IX A at
Madrasah Tsanawiyah "Wali Songo" Putri Ngabar Ponorogo.
The results of the study revealed that: 1) Homeroom teacher
communication with students fulfills 4 requirements of educational
communication, namely on the basis of awareness, has certain and clear goals,
directs a person to positive things, produces products that are useful for himself
and others (society). 2) Learning interest of students in class IX A meets the
indicators of educational communication.
